DEMPSEY, JACK SIGNED LETTER (1939)

HISTORY: Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Presented here is a signed letter of Jack Dempsey written on Dempsey Restaurant letterhead.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a one page typed letter dated March 7, 1939 on Dempsey Restaurant letterhead which pictures the restaurant in New York. In the letter Dempsey is responding to a request for a clipping of the press. Boldly signed in full name in fountain pen ink. Letter has original folds. No tears. Clean front and back. Minor corner wear. 8 1/2" x 11."
