On June 16, 1983 at Madison Square Garden in New York World Junior Middleweight Champion Davey Moore defended his title against veteran former champion Roberto Duran. Duran dominated the fight and stopped Moore in the 8th round to win the title. On the undercard Luis Resto stopped "Irish" Billy Collins in a controversial fight. It was later determined Resto's trainer "panama" Lewis had removed padding from Resto's gloves and he inflicted a terrible beating on Collins. resto was successfully prosecuted and both he and Lewis were banned from the sport. Offered here is the original contract for this fight between Roberto Duran and Davey Moore. Moore has signed the contract in two places as has Hall Of Fame promoter Bob Arum.
This is an original 5 page contract. Bold type. Lays out all of the particulars between the promoter and Davey Moore. Contract which includes a Rider has been boldly signed in ink by Davey Moore in two places and by Bob Arum in four places. Includes the original folds. Clean. Main agreement is 8 1/2" x 13" and the Rider is 8 1/2" x 11." The autograph of the late Davey Moore is scarce.
