ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY LARGE FORMAT PHOTOGRAPH (1951)

On February 14, 1951 in Chicago in a widely acclaimed fight Sugar Ray Robinson defeated Jake LaMotta to win the middleweight title. In celebration of Robinson's victory Mayor Vincent Impeliitteri of New York presented Robinson with a trophy and certifcate in New York on August 2, 1951. Offered here is an original, large format photograph of the mayor presenting Robinson with his certificate as his wife and mother look on.
