HISTORY: On April 5,1915 Jess Willard met world heavyweight champion Jack Johnson for the heavyweight title in Havana, Cuba. Willard would win the bout, knocking out Johnson in the 26th round.Johnson would later claim he threw the fight, although the evidence said otherwise. FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a real photo postcard of Jess Willard taken in 1915. Raised photographer stamp for FRANK G. ROBINS & CO., DPTO. FOTOGRAFICO OBISPO 69-71 HABANA in upper right corner. The unused card measures 3 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. The card shows just very minor wear to the corners and edges. No creases. The back has very light pencil writing. Mild stainin in upper left corner away from the image. Rare, the first we have seen.
