BRADDOCK, JIMMY-TOMMY FARR ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1938-WEIGHIN)

On January 21, 1938 at Madison Square Garden in New York former heavyweight champion Jimmy Braddock fought Tommy Farr in the main event. Braddock won a very close 10 round split decision. The two judges split their verdicts and referee John McAvoy had the fight even on rounds, but Braddock by points to decide it. This was Braddock's last fight. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting the two fighters squaring off at the weighin on the day of the fight.
