On October 28, 1933 at the Ridgewood Grove in Brooklyn, New York lightweights Tony Canzoneri and Joe Klick battled in the main event. Canzoneri prevailed winning a unanimous ten round decision. "A capacity crowd of 5,000, which filled every nook of the Ridgewood arena, accepted the decision with a salvo of boos and catcalls long after both had left the ring. It was Klick, a handsome youngster, who received the cheers of the crowd." New York Times.
