HISTORY: James J. Corbett was born on September 1, 1866 in San Francisco, California. He won the World Heavyweight Title from John L. Sullivan on September 7, 1892. He retired after losing to Jim Jeffries on August 14, 1903 with a final record of 11-4-2 with 2 no contests and 7 KO's. Presented here is an original hand written letter which is signed by James J. Corbett. Dated December 15, 1903 when Corbett was 4 months removed from his last professional fight, a loss to James J. Jeffries.
