HISTORY: On September 13, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York future world champion Roberto Duran, fighting in the United States for the first time took on Benny "Bang Bang" Huertas in an important lightweight bout. Duran stopped Huertas in the very first round. Also on the show world lightweight champion Ken Buchanan won a 15 round unanimous decision over former champion Ismael Laguna.
