HISTORY: Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. He won the World Heavyweight Title from Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. He announced his retirement in February of 1970 but was back in the ring later that October. He won the NABF Heavyweight Title On July 26, 1971 in a bout with Jimmy Ellis. He regained the World Heavyweight Title when he fought George Foreman in Zaire on October 30, 1974. He retired after losing to Trevor Berbick on December 11, 1981 with a final record of 56-5 with 37 KO's. Presented here is an original mouth piece worn in training by Muhammad Ali. This came from the collection of his assistant trainer Wali Muhammad (Walter Youngblood) and comes with a letter of authenticity from his daughter Daria Muhammad.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a hard rubber mouthpiece. The faded, but readable name of "ALI" is written on the mouthpiece in the hand of Wali Muhammad. Well worn, but perfectly intact. Irregularly shaped to 2" x 3." Comes with a full letter of authenticity from Daria Muhammad, the daughter of Wali Muhammad. Dates to the 1970's when Muhammad was an assistant trainer of Muhammad Ali which he did from 1971 until Ali's last fight in 1981.
