Lou Ambers was born on November 8, 1913 in Herkimer, New York. He won the World Lightweight Title from Tony Canzoneri on September 3, 1936. In his career he fought many important fighters of the day including: Honey Mellody, Johnny Jadick, Fritzie Zivic, Henry Armstrong, Jimmy McLarnin and Pedro Montanez. He retired after losing to Lew Jenkins on February 28, 1941 with a final record of 86-8-6 with 27 KO's. Offered here is an original date stamped 1992 Boxing Hall Of Fame first day cover which has been signed by Lou Ambers.
