HISTORY: On June 8, 1933 at Yankee Stadium in New York heavyweights Max Schmeling and Max Baer battled in an important divisional matchup. Baer prevailed stopping Schmeling in the 10th round. A crowd of 53,000 (with another 3,300 with passes) - including Jack Sharkey and Primo Carnera - paid $239,676.07 to assure a fair profit for Jack Dempsey in his first big promotional venture. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph of Max Baer at his training facility at Bader Field in Atlantic City as he prepared for this fight with Max Schmeling.
