COONEY, GERRY-RON LYLE PRESS KIT (1980)

On October 24, 1980 heavyweights Gerry Cooney and Ron Lyle squared off at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. Cooney stopped Lyle in the first round to continue his unbeaten streak and path to a shot at the heavyweight title. Presented here is an original press kit which was issued to the media before this fight.
This is an original press kit, a very seldom seen variation. Opens to a two pocket folder with clippings and information about the fight. Also includes original photographs. Clean inside and out. Tight binding. Not creased or torn. The only example of this press kit we have seen. Minor edge and corner wear. 9 1/2" x 11 5/8."
