He retired after losing to Jim Jeffries on August 14, 1903 with a final record of 11-4-2 with 2 no contests and 7 KO's. Presented here is an original ink signature of James J. Corbett, signed in 1893 as world heavyweight champion. Signed only five months after defeating John L. Sullivan to win the heavyweight title.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, fountain pen ink signature on heavy card stock. Boldly signed, "Yours truly Jas. J. Corbett Fe 9th 93." Not creased or torn. Clean. Tape stains on perimeter. 1 3/4" x 3 1/2."
