DURAN, ROBERTO FIGHT WORN ROBE (DE JESUS III-1978)

On January 21, 1978 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas WBA Lightweight Champion Roberto Duran met WBC Lightweight Champion, and old nemesis, Esteban De Jesus in a world title unification bout. These two had met two times previously each winning once. Duran was dominant in this fight and scored a TKO in round 12. Offered here is the actual fight worn robe used by Roberto Duran in this fight. The robe was given to General Omar Torrijos of Panama after the fight by Duran. Torrijos gave the robe to an associate who sold the robe last year.
This is an approximately knee length, white cloth robe with red, white and blue trim. On the back are the words, ROBERTO DURAN. No hood. Includes original sash. Shows some light wear and light soiling. Extremely rare 1970's fight worn robe of Roberto Duran.
