On July 2, 1973 heavyweights Joe Frazier and Joe Bugner fought at Earl's Court in London in the featured bout. Frazier won a 12 round hard fought decision. British referee Harry Gibbs, the only official, scored it 59¼ points for Frazier and 58½ for Bugner. Under the British scoring system, the winner of a round receives 5 points and the loser 4¾.
