George Fryar was born in Nottingham, England on October 20, 1860, the son of cattle dealer. His one year of professional boxing began and ended in 1885. He had four fights, winning two and drawing in the other two. His two draws were with the notable Alf Green field and Jake Kilrain. He did fight an outstanding exhibition with champion John L. Sulliavan in Nottingham. After a lengthy illness Fryar passed away on January 9, 1895. Offered here is an original broadside produced by Ishmael Wilson which commemorates the meory of George Fryar. Circa 1920.
This is an original, paper, blank backed broadside which pictures George Fryar. Center fold. Bold print and clear image. Has numerous edge tears and separations at the fold on left and right sides with no paper loss. Tape support on reverse. Clean. 9" x 14 1/2."
