On August 5, 1961 at Ogden Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah world middleweight champion Gene Fullmer defended his title against hard punching Florentino Fernandez. Fullmer prevailed winning a close 15 round split decision. Fullmer fractured his elbow during the fight. Offered here is a rare, original, on site poster to this event.
This is an original, cardboard, on site poster which pictures both fighters. Bold color and print. Bold, clear images. Has several border tears from mounting with small paper loss on bottom border. Tack and staple holes in the corners with a small hole adjacent to the image of Fullmer. Stain at bottom on back which slightly affects the bottom front. 13 1/2" x 21." Rare, the only example we have offered for sale.
