Morris Harris was an American heavyweight boxer who fought from 1903 to 1912. Harris was quite active in the East and Philadelphia, in particular, during the first decade of the past century; He fought many of the best men around and held his own. During his career, Harris defeated such men as "Cyclone" Bill Larry, Bob Long, Black Bill (Claude Brooks), George Gunther, Chuck Carleton, Al Kubiak, Tom Overby and George "Kid" Cotton. He also had fights with Joe Jeannette, Peter Maher, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, Jack Johnson and Sam Langford. Offered here is an original, first generation, mounted, antique photo of Morris Harris at the height of his career.
