HISTORY: Fighting Dick Hyland was an American Lightweight fighter who fought from 1902 through 1923 compiling a career record of 22-28-8. Hyland was born in Grass Valley, California on October 20, 1885. His first fight was on September 19, 1902, a loss to Joe Carroll. During his career Hyland fought Leach Cross, "Harlem" Tommy Murphy, Pal Moore and Battling Nelson. Hyland passed away in 1965 at the age of eighty.
