HISTORY: On July 4, 1910 in Reno, Nevada heavyweight champion Jack Johnson defended his title against former champion James J. Jeffries. This was a widely anticipated bout. Johnson completely outclassed Jeffries and stopped him in defense of his crown.
Offered here is a very scarce, original, real photo postcard depicting Jack Johnson at his training camp as he prepared for this fight with James Jeffries. Authenticated by SGC.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, unused, real photo postcard picturing Johnson and his camp members. Bold, clear images. No creasing or tears. Pin holes in the corners. AZO stamp on the reverse. Very light soiling on back. Corner wear. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Very scarce issue and original to 1910. Authenticated and encapsulated by SGC with their cert #5855796.
