Jake La Motta was born on July 10, 1922 in Bronx, New York. He began his professional career on March 3, 1941. He won the World Middleweight Title on June 16, 1949 stopping Marcel Cerdan in 10 rounds. Posted career victories over Sugar Ray Robinson, Tommy Bell, Fritzie Zivic, Bob Satterfield and Laurent Dauthuille. His career mark was 83-19-4. Known as "The Bronx Bull" he will forever be remembered as the subject of the popular movie RAGING BULL. Presented here is a hand painted boxing glove which has been signed by Jake LaMotta. From the collection of Vikki LaMotta and comes with a letter of authenticity from her son.
This is an original, white and red leather, regulation size boxing glove with a manufacturer's label for Everlast at the wrist. Left handed. Hand painted images of Jake LaMotta and Robert Deniro, who played LaMotta in the movie Raging Bull on the backhand. Done by noted sports artist Wayne Prokopiak, who has signed the glove under the artwork. Boldly signed in black sharpie, "Raging Bull Jake LaMotta." Bold, clear images. Clean. 12" long.
