LEWIS, LENNOX-ANDREW GOLOTA SOUVENIR PIN (1997)

On October 4, 1997 Lennox Lewis defended his World Heavyweight Title against rugged Andrew Golota of Poland at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Golota was seen as a real potential candidate to take down Lewis based on the impressive performances he had turned in against Riddick Bowe. It did not happen. Golota appeared unprepared as the first round began. Was he afraid? Was he drugged? Or was Lewis completely superior? Whatever the case Lewis destroyed Golota ending the fight in one round. Presented here is a scarce original souvenir pin for this event.
