LOUIS, JOE-JACK SHARKEY VINTAGE POSTER (1936)

HISTORY: On August 18, 1936 at Yankee Stadium in New York heavyweights Joe Louis and Jack Sharkey squared off in an important division match. Louis continued his advancement in the division stopping the former champion Sharkey in the 3rd round. This would be Jack Sharkey's final professional fight. Offered here is a rare, vintage advertising poster for this fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: The poster is cardboard and pictures both fighters. 17" x 19." There is a small chip out of the upper border near Sharkey's head. A few small pieces missing along the right border. Has a tear along right border extending to the S in Louis with no paper loss. Crease in upper right corner. Has the union label stamp in upper right area. An extremely rare poster for this fight, the only example we have seen.
