On July 6, 1900 at the Broadway Athletic Club in New York heavyweights Steve O'Donnell and Peter Maher fought in the main bout. Maher dominated from the outset knocking O'Donnell down four time and out in the very first round. Offered here is the original Articles Of Agreement for this fight. The document dated June 21, 1900 called for a 25 round contest with the proceeds to be split between the promoter and the fighters 50-50. The winner would then receive a 60-40 split with the loser. The one page agreement has been signed in ink by Steve O'Donnell and by Peter Lowry for Peter Maher.
