Sugar Ray Robinson fought Steve Belloise on August 24, 1949 at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Robinson knocked Belloise out in the 7th round. Billed as an eliminator for World Middleweight Title. Belloise was floored at the end of the sixth round and did not come out for round 7. Offered here is an original wire photo of the two fighters receiving a pre fight medical exam from Dr. Vincent Nardiello of the New York State Athletic Commission on the day of the fight.
