HISTORY: On December 12, 1981 at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas world featherweight champion Salvador Sanchez defended his title against Pat Cowdell. In a close, tough fight Sanchez put Cowdell down in the 15th round and won a 15 round split decision. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph from the fight taken by Hollis Stein.
