HISTORY: Pancho Villa (Francisco Guilledo) was born in the Philippines on August 1, 1901. He began his professional career in the Philippines in 1919. On June 18, 1923 he knocked out Jimmy Wilde to win the World Flyweight Title. He defended that title four times successfully. On July 14, 1925 he died in San Francisco from blood poisoning caused by an ulcerated tooth. His final career mark was 88-9-5 with 22 wins by knockout and 3 no decisions. In addition to Wilde he posted victories over Mike Ballerino, Johnny Buff, Abe Goldstein, and Bud Taylor. Presented here is a first generation, antique wirephoto of Pancho Villa.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This first generation, antique wirephoto of Pancho Villa is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2." There are tack holes in the corners and along the edges. There are small creases along the edges and there are light marks from where the photo was used in print.
