HISTORY: On November 4, 2017 at the Barclays Center in Booklyn, New York WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder made his 6th title defense against the man he originally won the title from, Bermaine Stiverne. Wilder knocked Stiverne out in the first round. Stiverne, who is the No.1 contender for the title, on October 4 replaces Luis Ortiz, who failed a drug test in September. Stiverne originally accepted money to step-aside and box Dominic Breazeale on the undercard and fight Wilder at a later date if he won. Stiverne has not fought since 2015 in a close decision win against Derric Rossy. Stiverne came in 15 3/4 lbs heavier compared to their 1st meeting. Stiverne down three times. After 3rd down referee stopped the bout without counting. After the fight, Wilder called out WBA and IBF champion Anthony Joshua.
