On July 12,1923 at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey former world heavyweight champion Jess Willard met Luis Firpo in a featured
heavyweight bout. Firpo would win the bout by KO in the 8th round. The bout was labeled "Battle of the Giants" and the winner was assured a shot at the heavyweight title held by Jack Dempsey. Presented here is an original, official program for this important event.
This is an original, official program which consists of 6 pages with bout listing and scorecard included. Fighters are pictured on the cover. Program has center creases in both directions. Not scored. The date correction on front cover was done at time of printing. Tight binding. Edge and surface wear. One closed tear on front cover with no paper loss.
