HISTORY: Jim Corbett fought Bob Fitzsimmons on March 17, 1897 in Carson City, Nevada. Fitzsimmons knocked Corbett out in the 14th round to win the Heavyweight Championship of the World. The fight was originally scheduled for Dallas, Texas in 1895, but was postponed. Offered here is a full, unused ticket for the fight in Carson City on March 17, 1897. Authenticated by PSA/DNA.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original full, unused ticket. Originally made for the Dallas venue it was used for the Carson City fight. Includes a section, row and seat number. The two stubs are firmly attached. Print and color remain bold. Ornate back. Minor stain in lower left corner. No creases or tears. Minor edge and corner wear. Extremely rare. 2 3/4" 6 5/8." Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA with cert #22119901. NOTE-PSA states the ticket is trimmed, probably because of the appearance of a miscut on the back. It is not trimmed. It is the exact size of all other tickets issued for this fight and shows the proper borders on the front.
