HAGLER, MARVIN-JAMIE THOMAS ON SITE POSTER (1979)

On May 26, 1979 future middleweight champion Marvin Hagler fought Jamie Thomas at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. Hagler stopped Thomas in the third round. Presented here is a rare on site poster to the event.
This poster is thin stock cardboard and pictures Hagler at the top. Thomas was not the originally scheduled opponent. A piece of tape with his name was put over the cancelled opponent's name. Another piece of tape was added under Hagler's picture with the word destroy written on it. The poster is 22" x 28". It has soiling and edge and corner wear. A small piece is missing on the lower right border. It has been creased down the middle. Extremely rare, the only copy we have seen to date.
