History: On June 9, 1899 World Heavyweight Champion Robert Fitzsimmons defended his title against undefeated Jim Jeffries at the Coney Island Athletic Club in Brooklyn, New York. Jeffries, the younger and bigger man, proved too much for Ruby Robert stopping him in the 11th round to win the heavyweight title. Offered here is a very rare pre fight poster for this event.
