CHARLES, EZZARD-ERV SARLIN ON SITE POSTER (1948)

On May 20, 1948 at the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York heavyweights Ezzard Charles and Erv Sarlin fought in the main event. Charles, the future heavyweight champion, prevailed winning a unanimous ten round decision. Offered here is a very rare on site poster to this event.
This poster is cardboard and pictures both fighters. The images are sharp. Slight fading of color. Print is bold. Clipped corners at upper right, lower right and lower left. Union label is evident. Stains at lower right and left corners. Tear at upper right area repaired on the back by tape. Several border tears , but not missing cardboard. Mild center crease and corners creased at upper and lower right. 22" x 28." Very rare, the only example we have seen.
