HISTORY: On December 8, 2001 at Koenig Pilsener Arena, Oberhausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany WBS Inter-Continental Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko defended his title against Ross Puritty in the featured match. Klitschko stopped Puritty in the 11th round. Puritty was the first boxer to defeat Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali's younger brother, and Vitali was out to avenge his brother's loss. SecondsOut.com reported that Klitschko "was in complete control of all 11 rounds." There were no knockdowns in the fight. The fight was stopped due to a cut over Puritty's right eye.
