HISTORY: On December 9, 2017 at Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko defended his title against Guillermo Rigondeaux. Lomachenko won when Rigondeaux could not come out for the 10th round. First ever fight matched up between two boxers who are both two-time Olympic Gold medal winners. Rigondeaux lost a point for holding in round six, and retired in the corner at the end of the round with a damaged right hand. This is the fourth time running that a Lomachenko opponent has either had the corner throw in the towel or the opponent quit in his own.
