HISTORY: On September 23, 1952 World Heavyweight Champion Jersey Joe Walcott defended his title against Rocky Marciano at Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia. Marciano was well behind on points when he dramatically stopped Walcott in the 13th round with one of the most memorable punches thrown in the history of boxing.
Offered here is an extremely rare, original "WELCOME HOME ROCKY MARCIANO" souvenir pin issued in 1952 welcoming the new champion home to Brockton, Massachusetts after winning the heavyweight title.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an extremely rare, original "WELCOME HOME ROCKY MARCIANO" souvenir pin issued in 1952 welcoming the new champion home to Brockton, Massachusetts after winning the heavyweight title. Metallic, red, white and blue pin with ribbon and two boxing gloves attached. Pin firmly attached on back. Clean. No dents. 1 1/4" in diameter (not including the ribbon and gloves).
