HISTORY: On August 28,1959 Carmen Basilio fought Gene Fullmer for the vacant Middleweight Title. Fullmer would win the bout by TKO in the 14th round. Fight was for the vacant title after the reigning champ, Sugar Ray Robinson, had been stripped by the NBA due to inactivity. Named 1959 Ring Magazine Fight of the Year. Presented here is a souvenir cigarette lighter from the event.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an unused souvenir lighter from the Basilio va. Fullmer bout in 1959.The lighter pictures both fighters and the San Francisco Cow Palace on the reverse side. The lighter has bold graphics and would work perfectly if fluid was added. Never been used. The size is 2 1/4 inches by 2 inches.
