On March 30,1965 at Madison Square Garden in New York world welterweight champion Emile Griffith met Jose Stable for the Welterweight Title. Griffith won the bout by unanimous decision in 15 rounds. Also on the card was the Willie Pastrano-Jose Torres bout. Torres would win the bout by TKO in 9 rounds.
