Regular price $225.00
On June 19, 1946, Joe Louis fought Billy Conn for the second time for the Heavyweight Title at Yankee Stadium in New York. In the first meeting Conn was well ahead on points late in the fight before being stopped. This fight was dominated by Joe Louis from the start en route to knocking Conn in the 8th round. Offered here is a large format, panoramic original wire photo showing the entire crowd at Yankee Stadium during one of the preliminary bouts on the show. This shot was not possible during the Louis-Conn fight as the ring lights were only in use for that fight, not the entire stadium lights.
This is an original, first generation wire photograph. Bold, clear image. Photo has mild creases in the corners. Minor edge and corner wear. Caption on the front. 11 1/4" x 16."
