Regular price $200.00
On September 24, 1935, heavyweights Joe Louis and Max Baer entered the ring with their careers going in opposite directions. Louis, undefeated, was a rising star in the division. Baer, the former heavyweight champion, was trying to rebound from his stunning loss to Jimmy Braddock a few months earlier. Louis demolished the former champ and knocked him out in the 4th round. Offered here is a dramatic, original, wire photo which depicts referee Arthur Donovan assisting a still dazed Max Baer to his corner as former world heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey congratulates the victorious Joe Louis.
This is an original International News Photos wire photo with their stamp and caption on the back. Bold, clear image. Clean front and back. Small corner creases. No tears. Minor edge wear. 8" x 10."
