LOUIS, JOE-TONY GALENTO WIRE PHOTO (1939-END OF FIGHT)

On June 28, 1939 World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis defended his title against Tony Galento at Yankee Stadium in New York. Galento, a hard punching rough and tumble sort, knocked Louis down early in the fight. Louis recovered and administered a ferious beating on "Two Ton" Tony before stopping him in the fourth round. Presented here is an original wire photo depicting the end of the fight with the referee calling off the action.
