Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Joe Louis' wife Marva and Rita Angel, Tony Canzoneri's wife. The two wives were appearing in local cafes as singers.
This antique wire photo is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2." There are small creases in the corners and along the edges. There are small creases along the lower part of the photo. Clean image with no rips or tears.
