SCHMELING, MAX WIRE PHOTO (1930-PRE SHARKEY)

Max Schmeling was born on September 28, 1905 in Klein Luckaw, Brandenburg, Germany. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 12, 1930 in a bout with Jack Sharkey. He also held the German Light Heavyweight, European Light Heavyweight and German Heavyweight Titles. He retired after losing to Richard Vogt on October 31, 1948 with a final record of 56-10-4 with 38 KO's. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Max Schmeling, taken before his bout with Sharkey.
This antique wire photo of Max Schemling is 8" x 10" and is in good condition. There are 2 small rips along the left edge and there are creases along the edges and in the corners.
