HISTORY: On August 4, 1911 at the Opera House in Medford, Oregon lightweights Battling Nelson and Tommy Gaffney met in the featured match. Gaffney scored a solid punch in the first round, but from then on it was all Nelson who stopped Gaffney in the 5th. Offered here is an original, real photo postcard depicting the two fighters squaring off before the fight began.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, real photo postcard. Unused with AZO stamp n back. Bold, clear image. Clean front. Paper residue on back from being mounted. Tiny crease at ower right corner. Minor corner wear. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Rare, the only example we have seen.
