HISTORY: On March 25, 1991 at the Meadowlands Convention Center in Secaucus, New Jersey super middleweights Joe Gatti and Matt Farrago headlined the boxing show. Gatti prevailed knocking Farrago out in the 2nd round. Joe Gatti landed a punishing straight right hand, which he followed by a left hook as Farrago already was toppling to the canvas. Farrago tried to rise at the count of three but helplessly fell back to the canvas as Joe Cortez waved an end to the fight. “At first I took the fight as an opponent and then decided to train and took it seriously,” said Farrago. “I stuck to my game plan but I didn’t expect to get hit like that. I didn’t know where I was. If the Beta Bomber had a chance to warm up, he would have done better.” [Jersey Journal, Tuesday, Mar 26, 1991, Jersey City, NJ].
