MATTHEWS, LEN-JOSE VELEZ & BRISCOE-BELL ON SITE POSTER (1963)

On Monday December 2, 1963 at the Arena in Philadelphia welterweight Len Matthews was scheduled to fight Jose Napoles in the co main event. Napoles dropped out and was replaced by Jose Chico Velez who was knocked out by Matthews in the 8th round. In the other co feature Jesse Smith won a ten round decision over Gomeo Brennan. On the undercard Percy Manning won an 8 round decision over Ricky Ortiz and Bennie Briscoe knocked out Bobby Bell in the first round. Offered here is an original, on site poster for this event.
