On April 4, 1941 at Madison Square Garden in New York former heavyweight champion Max Baer fought rising contender Lou Nova in the main event. Nova stopped the fading Baer in the 8th round. This would be the last professional fight in the career of Max Baer. Nova was knocked down for a brief one count in the 4th from a Baer right hand. Baer was knocked down by a right for a nine count, after he got up he was knocked down again by a right hand, that sent him down again. Referee Donovan stopped the bout as the count was at two. Offered here is a scarce original, official program to this event.
