BENITEZ, WILFRED SIGNED RING MAGAZINE (AUGUST 1981)

HISTORY: Wilfred Benitez was born on September 12, 1958 in the Bronx, New York. He won the World Junior Welterweight Title from Antonio Cervantes on March 6, 1976. On January 14, 1979 he won the World Welterweight Title from Carlos Palomino. He went on to win the WBC Super Welterweight Title on May 23, 1981 from Maurice Hope. He retired after losing to Carlos Herrera on November 28, 1986 with a final record of 51-6-1 with 30 KO's.

 Presented here is a signed Ring Magazine of August 1981 by Wilfred Benitez. an amateur fighter himself, and eventually very involved in the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame as both a member and Historian.
