HISTORY: On April 12, 1929 at the New York Coliseum in New York City future champion Kid Chocolate fought Bushey Graham, the world featherweight champion in the featured match. Graham prevailed when Chocolate was disqualified in the 7th round. This bout was originally proposed as for World Bantamweight Title, but the NYSAC refused to sanction it.
Venue: Former Madison Square Garden's matchmaker Jess McMahon's brand-new, barn-sized fistic emporium. Attendance: 16,000. One thousand counterfeit tickets were reportedly sold and spectators arriving late found their seats already occupied. "There was major fighting within the ring, minor battles among the spectators and general squabbling and killing outside." (AP) Chocolate was down in 1st & 2d; Graham was down in 2d, 6th, and 7th.
