On August 26, 1941 at Madison Square Garden in New York world light heavyweight champion Gus Lesnevich defended his title against Tami Mauriello. Lesnevich prevailed winning a close 15 round split decision. Mauriello was down for a 9-count in the second round. Official scoring was 8-7 for Lesnevich; 8-6-1 for Lesnevich; 10-5 for Mauriello. On the undercard future champion Beau Jack won a 6 round decision over Guillermo Puentes. Offered here is a scarce, original, official program for this event.
